West Coast Story
Everything is connected, it’s a Universal truth that can now even be backed up through the entanglement theory of quantum physics. If life is a boat ride, then consciousness is our paddle that guides us forward, as we float on an endless sea of energy, frequencies and vibrations where nothing is solid and material existence is an illusion. Our ancestors felt these connections in every moment guided by the rhythms of Mother Earth and the hydrologic cycle. They lived in a state of movement and flow as they journeyed through the seasons and patterns of nature. As storytellers we share these teachings and knowledge through myths and legends weaved together from the magic of this existence. It’s the unique gift that all humans share, and as we return to the sacred places that surround our homes in the Pacific North-West we can rediscover the stories of the land. This art piece embodies the flow and movement of water and the Universal energy that water mirrors. Depicted in the center is the mythical creature Queneesh, spirit of the glacier, who connects the mountains to the sea. The salmon symbolize the life blood and bounty of the K’omoks Valley and the deer its tributaries. The eagle spirit symbolizes the watcher and protector of all life and the journey water takes from earth the sky and back. The bear spirits symbolize the connection the rivers have to the land as they spread the nutrients and energy inland. The sun and infinity sign in the center embody the circle of life and the love and light that guides us all through this journey.
