Giclee Print on Canvas
Printed locally in the beautiful Comox Valley on acid free museum quality canvas, hand wrapped with care, and UV clear coated to keep your colours vibrant for 150+ years.
All custom wood frames are lovingly hand made from salvaged wood found locally in the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, British Columbia. Driftwood is gathered from beaches, dried and milled, and Red Cedar is hand picked from waste piles at a local Cedar mill.
The West Coast Story
This is my first attempt at mixing airbrush, paint brush and paint pen styles. It’s inspired by one of my favourite places in the Kootenays, Whitewater Basin, where I spend the Winter exploring the endless slopes surrounding Ymir peak on my split-board. I wanted to capture the magic of snowflakes falling through the alpine glow, as the last rays of light kiss the glistening peaks goodnight. This board is actually a directional snowboard core that was donated by friends at Kindred Snowboards in Merville, B.C. Made out of local Balsam and Cedar, it’s the first layer created in the snowboard build and was a fun canvas to work with.
I created this piece for the Pacific Board Art Show at the Waverley Hotel in Cumberland B.C. this past winter. Started by local artists, it’s a project that turns used boards into beautiful art pieces, with 30% of sales going to local environmental charities.
