The West Coast Story
When you hear the word “alone” what instinctively comes to mind? At first it may be feelings of fear, disconnect, sadness, or being lost and forgotten. Yet for others it may be the sound of rejuvenation, peace, and connecting with the source. Once we break through the negative barriers constructed by our egoic minds and society, we can journey into a place of oneness. For me, surfing has always offered that place of solitude whenever I’ve needed it most. The ocean’s been my watery temple, teacher and healer, guiding me back to my center with every session. In life, I’ve always been drawn to places and careers where I can be alone in the West Coast wilderness every day. It’s in these moments by ourselves that we can grow and evolve as conscious beings, free to ponder the intricacies, beauty and mystery of our existence. Looking deeper into this canvas I can see and feel a strong upswing and the returning home after journeying through the dark night of the soul these past few years. Above the horizon line, self-love and the returning to heaven and light is symbolized by the sun, blue sky and birds. Below, the ocean contains 8 waves, a number that has guided me through life and symbolizes the infinite cycles we move through. We are alone but never alone in it all.
